August Pre-school Activities

Here is the Round up of this months Pre-school activities!

The first one was a $1 Kids summer movie at the "expensive theater."  They were playing the Winnie the Pooh movie.  We were not able to make it due to I was packing for our family reunion that weekend.

The next activity was Manila Creek Pond.  This was actually super fun (for the most part)!  It is this super cute little man made reservoir in Pleasant Grove/American fork with this great beach area for the kids to play in.  It is only 1 year old so the reservoir is still really clean and the kids had a blast.  We took a picnic lunch and put up our beach umbrellas and had a great time!

Best buds enjoying the water!

Hard at work!

So now that you have checked out the fun pictures there is a short story to tell.  We were present when a tragic accident happened.  All of the moms from our group had left, except Yadira and I.  We were getting ready to leave ourselves when a mom came running out of the water carring her 7 year old daughter who was life-less, and the mom was screaming for help.  The little girl had drowned right there.  We don't know how it happened, just that when the mom realized her daughter was missing, she went in the water to look and found her floating face down.  A registered nurse (who was there) immediately started doing CPR and did it for 20 minutes until the paramedics arrived who were also unable to revive her.  The beach was packed with Moms and kids and we all watched in horror, hoping and praying for this little girl to come back.  I think it was so horrifying because we all realized in that moment that it could have been any one of us that day, it could have been our child.  Yadira and I both cried and left the pond completely restless.  Later that evening we saw it on the news that the little girl had indeed died.  Our kids never even knew what had happened, they were having so much fun, but it was a shocking, shocking day that I will never forget.

On to happier days... Our next activity was Temple Square!  This is one of my kids favorites because we get the ride the Trax train into down town!
Riding into town
Once there we went to the childrens exhibit in teh church history museum.  This is such a fun place for kids!  It is a mini childrens museum and it is all Gospel related!  I love it!  And the kids always have a lot of fun!

Isabel had fun too!
Then we went to the new City Creek Center...wow!  it was amazing!  I can't wait to go back!
Then we rode the train back with Veronica and Xochitl and kids!  This is Sariana, Benjamin tells me he plans on marring her someday! :)
And this is Sophi, she and Abby are just a ball of mischief!
The next activity was the Dinosaur Museum on a $2 Tuesday!  I know, we already went!  But we went again with our Pre-school friends and my kids didn't mind at all going again!  We did do one different thing we went and experienced their exhibit on the art of listening!  It was really cool!
Listening

Abby thought they were for squishing your cheeks! LOL

Playing the Drums!

They really liked this!
I especially like how Abby sticks our her tongue in concentration!
Then we headed into the Dinosaur museum!  Fun Day!

Our last activity was really fun, but I forgot to take pictures.  Unfortunately not many from our group showed up, but we found this amazing park out in Saratoga Springs called Neptune Park and it had some very different but fun playground equiptment!  including this 30 foot climbing pyramid!
