June Summer outings

This summer our little Pre-school decided to go do activities together every Wednesday morning. We try to do things that are either free or very in-expensive. So far it's been a blast! The kids absolutely love it and look forward to it every week! And I love doing new things. We've gone places that I would have never even thought of going! So here are our activities that we did in June!...

The first week we went to Cabela's (very close to home). The kids loved the giant walk through fish tank and all the stuffed animals! Afterward we had a picnic at the park!

The kids in front of the fish tank! Don't you love Abby's headband?! She wore it the whole time! (But she hasn't wore it since)

Some of the kids in front of the African animals exhibit
The second week we went to the BYU Dinosaur museum! I didn't even know BYU had a Dinosaur museum!? It was small but they had a lot of thing to see and touch and we even had a little tour guide. It was great! And free! Afterward we went and fed the ducks at the BYU pond and then had lunch at the Creamery, Yumm!
Some of the kids in front of this great mural they had.

Bones, bones, bones.

Abby being he rambuncious little self

The first is a pre-historic Sloth! I had no idea they were so big! The second one is T-rex. Benjamin was a little reluctant to stand under it for a picture.

My friend Eli joined us! We all miss her since she moved out of our ward. It was fun to see her.

The third week we stayed in Lehi. Lehi was having their annual round up and on Wed. (the day of our activities) they were having a live reptile and bird show. It was great! The kids loved it! It too was free!

A snake and some of the birds.

The last week we did something really fun! (It too was free). Highland has a bran new Splash pad in front of their city offices. We took lunch and had a blast!

This month was great! And full of fun things I don't think I would have thought of on my own! Thanks Melissa! Can't wait for July!

So many Deals... so little time!

I started couponing!! Because of my friend Cylee, and my sister-in-law Patty, I have been wanting to do it for about a year now, but just could never bring myself to get started. But then my sister-in-law Lexi went to a class and told me all about it and that she had started... That and the fact that I was over budget on groceries every week was just what I needed to finally do it! And I started on the best week possible! Smiths was having a promotion where they made all coupons under a dollar worth a dollar! So even a coupon worth 20 cents was worth a dollar for that week! What a jackpot! The two pictures below is stuff I got for free that week! Completely free!
Also, I scored some crest 3D whitestripes normally $28 for $1.99!!!

Then because I never got the ketchup I was after (they were always sold out) I decided to go to Wal-mart to see if they would "price match" They did! I got even more cheep stuff as well as my ketchup for free!!! And I got 5 12-packs of shick razors for free!
Are you impressed? I sure am! So the concept is this, every product goes on sale every 3 months (give or take), when it goes on sale you take your coupons and buy at a rock bottom price! I stock up (because I have 5 sets of coupons) and then you don't buy it again until it goes on sale. If you always buy things at rock bottom prices you save, save, save! This week I spent $107.08 . I saved..... $179.73!!! That's almost $300 worth of groceries for a little over 100 bucks! Normally you don't spend this much in one week (this was a stock up kind of sale), but the percentage of savings is about the same every week!
For my friends out of state.... you should be doing this!! I would love to coupon out of state! Most other states have stores that let you do double and triple coupons! My sister-in-law in Missouri filled her basement with food storage and most of it was free! Even her coupons were free, she would dumpster dive for them (my respects to her for that). Unfortunately we cannot do that here in Utah, there are way to many people here who coupon so stores will not double coupons (except on rare occasions), and we cannot dumpster dive for them either, people here don't throw away their coupons. But still, I am saving sooo much money doing this! And I am having a blast doing it!

Lehi Round-up Parade!

This was the kids very first parade! (I know, it's terrible that I never took them before, but what can I say, I am not a morning person) They loved it! As did I! It was great! Not crowded at all (and we showed up right as it started), got great seats!, and there was tons of candy and other things thrown out! I was very impressed! And the floats were great!
They were mesmerized!

Benjamin got a hat! Cousin Lindy also has a cute hat! So does Uncle Allan.

Cosmo was in the parade too! He gave Benjamin a five and Lexi got him to pose for a quick picture! Go Cougars!

Then we headed over to Wines Park for the Little carnival they had it was great! Most of the rides were only 25 cents! They also had a little petting zoo!

Benjamin LOVED the train ride!

He also loved the swing ride!... Abby, not so much.
