National Talk Like a Pirate Day!

So today was National Talk like a Pirate Day and Krispy Kreme was celebrating by giving a dozen doughnuts to every person dressed like a Pirate.  So we just had to go!  The only problem was the line was about 3 hours long!  The kids really wanted to wait in line so Isaac stayed in the Drive through line and we got out and waited in line.  We were still very much outside the building when Daddy ended up at the front of the drive through, so then we hoped in the van and did Drive through (which ended up being only a 50 minute wait).... Aarrrrr!  The best part is that it kind of got us into an early Halloween mood!  Can't wait for Halloween!
The kids!  I really liked Benjamin's costume

End of Summer Round up

So here is the End of Summer round up of what has been going on!...August was a super busy month (not even counting our Escuelita activities).  First of all, we hadn't been to 7 Peaks all summer and wanted to take advantage of our Pass of all Passes.  So we went 4 times this month!  I forgot to take pictures, but the last time we went to 7 Peaks Salt Lake City with Margaret and she snapped one of the kids with her phone.  The kids LOOOOVE 7 peaks!

Next we had two different house guests!  First the Bailey's stayed a night at our house!  They were in the singles ward with me before my mission and I hadn't seen them since!  I just love these two and it was so fun to spend the evening with them and meet their beautiful children!  They other house guest was my childhood BFF Marie!  She came for BYU Education week and stayed at my house.  Her neighbor Gina also came and if was fun to finally get to know her.  Alas, I forgot to take a picture!  I am so bummed.  Oh well, next time.

The other fun thing that happened is my nephew Ruben left for his mission in the Dominican Republic!  It was a whirlwind.  He turned 18 on Sat. Had his farewell and was ordained an Elder on Sunday.  Went through the Temple on Monday.  Got set apart as a full time missionary on Tuesday, and got on a plane on Wednesday morning!  Crazy!  But we are super excited for him!
After the Temple session Monday morning
Then at the end of August Benjamin started 1st grade!!  It is crazy having him gone all day, but he loves school and is doing super well.  We are proud parents!

Then on Labor day we celebrated the "Last Day of Summer" by going to our pool one last time.  We had a lot of fun in the pool this summer!  Especially Isabel, she is a little fish!
