50 Year Anniversary

These are my darling in-laws, Roberto and Maria Elena Granados. Earlier this month they celebrated their 50 year wedding anniversary. It was such a fun event. I consider myself so lucky because not only am I married to the greatest guy in the world but I also have the best inlaws. They are such a great example of loyalty, patience and love. Anyway the party was huge. Complete with family photos, dinner, slide show, program, and dancing. We had so much fun. Here are just a "few" pictures...

Also at the end is the Video Montage that I (with a lot of help from Lynsey) made. It was playing during dinner. Enjoy!

The invitation

Sitting: "Tito & Nena"
Behind: Their children Nidia, Maribel, Rosi, Isaac, Ruben, Lily, Pati, Leti

Nena & Tito with 25 of their 26 grandkids

Yes, I married into a huge family!!

The cake

The family did a "waltz." First each of the children and spouses were presented and stood behind their children that were all holding a rose. Then when Nena & Tito walked down each of the grandchildren handed them their rose and then Nena & Tito put them all in a vase (representing all of their grandchildren), then they danced the rest of the song.

Finishing the dance

Then the program started with Rosi singing. Benjamin loved this part.

Then Aaron and Diego danced a few songs with some of the kids from their dance group

Then Dan played a song on the piano

Then Isaac dance "El Jarabe Tapatio" with his sister Pati
They did so good!
Then our nieces Mimi & Rubi sang

And at the end Isaac gave a beautiful tribute to his parents. He made a lot of people in the room cry. His words were beautiful.

Laughing

Well, Benjamin Laughed at 3 months, so we have been wondering when Abby (now 5 months) was going to start laughing. A couple of weeks ago she laughed a tiny bit with Fred's fiancee Arlen, but since then, nothing. We have tried everything and she would not laugh! So tonight, Benjamin wanted me to do my chicken impression. He loves it! So then Isaac decided to try it and then it happened!.... Abby cracked up! We were shocked and I ran for the camera! It's soooo dang cute! Anyway, her laugh, also made Benjamin laugh so he drowns out her laugh a little but it's still great video. Enjoy!

The Zoo and Picnics

During our Staycation we went to several Picnics and we also took a trip to the Zoo! Unfortunately the day we went to the Zoo, Benjamin was on one and did not have fun until the very end when we put Abby in his umbrella stroller and let him push her around. He loves animals... I guess it was just one of those days. well, at least I had fun. I've never been to the Zoo here in Utah, so I thought it was great! So I didn't get the best pictures, but here are a few...
I was fascinated by the Giraffes!

This picture doesn't show it very well, but this tiger looked like he was going to kill someone.

Benjamin's favorite part was the Zoo park and the snake slide

Nuestro pollito en su huevo
He loves eggs so he thought it was pretty cool to sit inside one!

This was our ward Picnic. The food was great and so was the mingling.

Isaac participated in the shave a ballon game. He did great!

Nena's uncle invited us to a Rubalcava family Picnic. Lots of cousins!

Temple Open House

This day we had the oportunity to attend the Open House for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We took Arlen with us, so we decided to make a day of it and went to Temple Square first. We saw the Joseph Smith movie and I bawled like a baby. I felt the Spirit so strong. Then we saw the Statue of Christ and then we went out to West Jordan to see the Temple. It was absoultly beautiful! A Sister Missionary came with us to explain everything to Arlen. She loved it, and we were so glad that she had the opportunity to see the inside of a Temple and understand a little more why Temples are so important to us. We also were able to meet up with Isaac's family at the Open House, here are some pictures.

Fred and Arlen (Maybe this is fortelling something???)

4th of July

4th of July was a lot of fun and the beggining of our Staycation! We spent Friday in downtown Provo at the Freedom festival. Isaac's sister's Pati and Nidia are here visiting and Benjamin is having so much fun getting to know all his cousins. The Freedom Festival was so much fun! At the NuSkin Park they had tons of free activities and performances. One of the performances was Benjamins two cousins Aaron and Diego dancing. He loved it! And one of the free activites were the giant blow up bouncy things. At the botom there is video of Benjamin and his cousins, Jacob "ja-ko", Emma, and Angelita going down the slide. Enjoy! Then on Saturday we went to a Park in Provo and watched the fireworks. Benjamin really liked them. Abby even watched too!

Also that weekend we went to a Family get together/ Baby Shower at my Aunt Gloria's house. The Baby Shower was for Tina (Eric's wife). They have been trying to have a baby for about 7 years now and now thanks to IVF they are finally pregnant with TWINS!! We are so happy for them. They are going to be great parents.

Abby and Benjamin are getting soo Big!

Congratulations Eric and Tina!!!
