Baby Blessing Pictures

When Abby was blessed at 2 months old Kate came and took some pictures of her. I just got them back, but I am not complaining because she didn't charge me. So now that I have them I thought I would post some of my favorites. Kate did such a great job. I just love them!

Abigail's Baby Blessing

On Easter Sunday Isaac had the privilege of giving Abigail a baby blessing. For those of you who don't know a Baby Blessing is something we do in our church to "present" the new baby and give it a name and a Blessing so that our Heavenly Father will bless them throughout their lives. We dress them in white as a symbol that they are pure, innocent, and "clean." Allthough it is not a requirement to dress them in white, more of a tradition.

Isaac gave her a beautiful blessing. He blessed her with health, strength to overcome her trials, and achive her goals. He blessed her with a desire to marry in God's Holy Temple and many other beautiful things. I am so thankful that I married such a wonderful man who is worthy of the priesthood he holds so that he can bless our children and I not just at their birth but throughout our lives.

After the blessing we had family and friends, who had traveled to be with us on this special day, over for a light lunch. It was fun to see everyone. Here are some pictures.

Easter

Easter weekend was very eventful. Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning, Mom's Birthday party on Saturday evening, and Baby Blessing on Sunday. First we practiced all week for the big Saturday City Easter egg hunt! I bought some chocolates and plastic eggs and about every other day hid a few around the house and told Benjamin to go look for them. He loved the game. Then on Saturday we went to the Easter egg Hunt. He was in the 3 and under group, we were so excited! The horn blew and all the parents jumped in to "help" their toddlers. So of course Isaac jumped in too (had to make sure Benjamin got something). So the whole thing lasted about 30 seconds.... oh well. Benjamin was pretty exctited about what was in his basket. He loves chocolate. So we put the bunny ears on him and got some cute pictures!

Also on Saturday was my Mom's Birthday! All her children were there too! Me and Isaac, Allan and his wife Lexi, Peter and his fiancee (yes, he is engaged!) and Fred! Except his fiancee is still in Nicaragua. But things are moving along quickly and she should be here by the end of May! We are really excited!
Well, as much as we love Bunny ears and Egg Hunts... what Easter is really about is the Savior. He suffered and died so that we could return to live with him and our Heavenly Father if we keep his commandments. I love this clip of Jeffery R. Holland as he explains what it might have been like and what the Savior did for us.
Happy Easter!

Conference Weekend

It was the best of times, and the worst of times.... First of all two of Isaac's sisters (who live in Missouri) had tickets to see General Conference so they decided to take a weekend trip here to Utah. We were sooo excited it had been over 2 years since we had seen them. They hadn't even seen either two of our children. Well they got here late Thursday night and the next day on Friday everyone came to our neck of the woods and we spent the day at the Legacy center. It was a blast, the boys played soccer and basketball and the kids when swimming at the indoor pool. Benjamin especially enjoyed being with so many of his cousins! Then aftward everyone came to our house for dinner and cake and icecream. It was Danny's birthaday that day and Shad's just a few days later.

So there are 26 grandkids in the Granados Family and 18 of them were in my house that Friday night. It was crazy! Fun, but crazy.

Then on Saturday morning, Benjamin and I woke up violently ill... We both had the flu and Benjamin also was vomiting and had a really bad ear infection. Well, between Dr. appointments, farmacy visits, and a very fussy toddler, we unfortunately did not catch much of the conference. But I plan to do a lot of reading when we get next months Ensign. We were also soo sad that we didn't get to spend any more time with the family, but we were just soooo sick. Luckily my mom came down to take care of us so that at least Isaac was able to go be with his family.

Needless to say we are very excited that they will be coming again in July to celebrate my In-law's 50 year anniversary. We better not get sick this time.

Anyway, the Friday that everyone was here Isaac had a bawl doing some video recording. And Benjamin had a ball being the entertainment. So I have some pictures below as well as some VIDEO! The first two video's are of Benjamin dancing Salsa and the last one is just of the Chaos. The last one is kind of long so if you are not family it will probably be boring. Anyway, enjoy!

Happy Birthday Danny & Shad!

Ready for Cake!

A Clarification

A very good friend of mine brought something to my attention regarding my labor story that I shared in my post titled "It's a Girl!" She expressed concern that perhaps other women reading my story might feel bad or less of a women or less of a mom if they choose not to go natural. I didn't even think that my story would ever make someone feel that way and if it did then I sincerly apologize. That was never my intention to make someone feel that way.

I know natural child birth is not for everyone, let me be the first to admit that if I had had a good 1st labor I would have NEVER considered natural child birth. Prior to my horrible 1st experience this was me....

Anyway, my purpose was to inspire 3 kinds of women...

1. the women who wants to try natural child birth but might be a little scared to

2. the women who doesn't want medical intervention because she is afraid of the risks

3. the women who (like me) had a horrible experience due to previous medical intervention and now wants to try something different.

To those women out there who have had great experiences with Epidurals and choose to continue to use them... I say great! If you can have a wonderful birth with no pain... that is awesome! Truly, I envy those women.

And to first time moms, as I said before.... go natural for as long as possible and then yes... I think you should get an epidural. Because the first time is usually very long and very exausting but don't make the mistake I did and get it too soon. Wait to you are at least to a 5. Well, I hope this clarifys a bit. Good luck to all you Mamas out there!
