Family Vacation: Part One: Road Trip!

Well, we almost did not get a family vacation this year, but at the last minute we were able to go!  We decided to go to El Paso!  Isaac grew up there and had not been back in 14 years!  But before we got to El Paso, we decided to do a Road Trip!  We took 3 days to get there with lots of fun stops along the way.  We also "adopted" our nephew Jairo for the trip!  He has been here for the summer and we brought him along for the ride!  We love this kid!  He is every parents dream teenager!  Such a good kid and he is the big brother Benjamin never had!  So here is part one of our vacation.... THE ROAD TRIP.

Zion National Park

We made it!
"Packed" and ready to go!

Jairo - King of the Rock!

Heading down the trail

We saw a lot of water dripping from the rocks, it made the hike seem so lush and almost tropical!

saw tons of squirrels, right up close too!

So this was the end of our hike but the beginning of the Zion Narrows hike.... sigh.... maybe someday when the kids are older!
We let Isabel wade in the river at the end, she loved it!

Abby kept asking to go back to the hotel, but she made it!

There was a great place to play in the water back at the begining of the hike as well
We did another small hike to Weeping Rock, it was really cool to see how the water came out of the rock like rain!
Having a drink!
And a great view!  With my cute family!

The Grand Canyon

Our first view of the Grand Canyon

Up in the Indian tower

Then we went to the traditional viewing spot called "Mather Point"

Family shot!
Jairo wanted a more "dangerous" close up shot... Glad he didn't fall off.

Beautiful!

Phoenix, AZ

In Phoenix we went night swimming at our Hotel, and it was still 110 Degrees outside!

We also got to visit with my old friends from my singles ward Danita & Dave!  It was super fun seeing them, but I forgot to take a picture!!!

Tucson, AZ

Our last stop before getting to El Paso was in Tucson, where we stopped for a few hours and saw Isaac's best friend and his cute family!  We love you Hugo and Sharla, wish you were closer!
